Written as a Stone Composer Fellow for GLCMF, glint, gleam, glow exists as a musical interpretation of the phonetic and semantic characteristics of the three words—how they relate to one another in gesture, texture, and presence in time permanence and physical or visual space, what connotations each word brings in terms of persona and imagery, and what may be described with one word as opposed to another. The piece is split into three movements, with each taking on a distinctive character realizing one of the three words. Most of the work to write the piece took place in the Bloomington Farmstop Collective, a lovely and inviting space for which I am very grateful, and with the input of many dear friends.
